First of all, congratulations on that special day. If you are getting married, planning a commitment ceremony, having a special anniversary, or attending some other event that requires you to dance, I'm here to help.
Now about that dance....I offer private and group lessons in the basics of foxtrot, waltz, swing, two step, or whatever other dance matches your chosen song. If you have a wedding party, a family, or just a group of friends that all want to learn to dance for your event, then we can form a group class. But for your solo dance, I strongly recommend private lessons.
Private lessons teach you to dance to the song you have chosen. I choreograph an entrance, an ending, and as much (or as little) else as you are comfortable with. I tailor the level of complexity to your ability and time frame.
If you have not chosen a song yet, I can help you find music that matches your personality: pure romantic or funky love? flowing waltz or upbeat swing? country duet or Frank Sinatra croon? Music sets the mood, and we can find a song that matches your vision of your special day.
Special solo dances are a bit different from regular social dancing. To being with, YOU are in the spotlight; everyone wants to see your faces, take pictures, smile (or cry) as you glide by. And on your special day, you can do no wrong; whatever you do looks fabulous, and everyone cheers you on. The moves I use show you to best advantage, allowing you to make eye contact with all your guests and create "Kodak moments" for photos.
So don't be intimidated by the idea of dancing. Even if you've never danced before, I will teach you enough to look wonderful and feel great for your special dance.
Lesssons can be done at your home or mine, or at one of the places I rent for classes. Weeknights and weekends can be available.
Please call (781-306-0642) or e-mail me at julie@jkdance.com to discuss timing and costs.
So come for a lesson, and leave dancing.
